St. Charles Parish Assessor Tab Troxler is set to host an Informational Session on Reassessment beginning at 6 p.m. April 23 at River Parishes Community College’s United Way of St. Charles Campus, 13145 Highway 90 in Boutte. The public is invited to attend for an update on the state-mandated residential reassessment, the results of which will be published in August.

“As assessor, it’s been my top priority to ensure homeowners understand the reassessment process and how it will affect local taxes,” Troxler said. “Part of that is looking at the big picture when it comes to our assessed market values and millage rates.”

State law requires the assessor to analyze real estate sales data between July 2022 to June 2023 to develop reassessment values. The strong local market in this period shows price appreciation for residential property since the last reassessment in 2020.

“We are looking forward to productive discussions and the opportunity to answer any questions residents may have,” Troxler said.

The St. Charles Parish Assessor’s Office is located on the first floor of the St. Charles Parish Courthouse, 15045 River Road in Hahnville. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The assessor’s office is tasked with discovering, listing, and valuing all property in St. Charles Parish for ad valorem tax purposes and is committed to fairness, consistency, and transparency.
