The simple act of mailing back a postcard equals savings on your property tax bill for 2024.
The St. Charles Parish Assessor’s Office mailed homestead exemption renewal cards the week of Jan. 8. Under Louisiana law, homeowners are entitled to one homestead exemption on their primary residence of up to $75,000 in fair market value.
All residents need to do to take advantage of the homestead exemption is complete, sign, and return the bottom portion of the renewal card to the assessor’s office as soon as possible.
