Hurricane Ida, Public Notices|

A MESSAGE FROM ASSESSOR TAB TROXLER – PLEASE SHARE

My office is in the process of reassessing homes and businesses in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Immediately following the storm, we commissioned aerial photography of the parish to assist with damage assessment. Additionally, the entire parish has been photographed from street level using a 360 vehicle camera.

Field crews have already completed an initial assessment of businesses. More work is yet to come as we reassess more than 20,000 parcels. There is significant damage across the entire parish, varying from minor to total losses. It will be a challenge for us to complete this task; however, we are being assisted by various assessor’s offices from other parts of the state to get it done.

We want this process to be easy and come with the least amount of red tape possible, but with such varying degrees of damage, we may need your assistance when requested to ensure we understand the damage your property has suffered.

Like our community, our employees have varying degrees of damage as well. I and two other families in our office have lost the use of our homes. Everyone in our office has suffered damages.

We are in this recovery with you. We are here to serve you. God be with all of us.

Please continue to use our regular number, (985) 783-6281, for any questions or concerns. Our office is also available via email at assessor@stcharlesassessor.com, and all of our Ida-related updates can be found on the web at https://stcharlesassessor.com/category/hurricane-ida/
